Alimony Red

Alimony Red

I wanted to call these wines "Alimony", but my son Max convinced me, that while damn funny, "Resolution" was far more positive. He said it sounded bitter and I wasn't. As usual, he was right. So borne from the ashes of mass destruction - oh wait - let me try again - more positive... rescued from the clutches of blood sucking family law attorneys - hang on - one more time... I got this... inspired by the more amazing and positive things in life, these wines showcase our passion and love of Rhone varietals.

We borrowed inspiration from Krug (our favorite bubbly) and call these wines Grande Cuvees since they are multi-vintage blends from 6 clones of syrah, 3 grenache noir, mourvedre, and counoise.

But wait - a sign from above - Resolution was taken - we can't use it!. So full circle - Alimony it is. The moral of the story - trust your gut and instincts. Life is short. Do whatever it takes to laugh.

Tasting Notes
Complex aromas of plum, cassis, sandalwood and mocha take center stage for this field blend of Rhone varietals. A careful balance of tannin and acidity allow the flavors of tart cherry, dragon fruit and pomegranate to meld together, cumulating in a nice voluptuous finish.

My dear friend Morgan Le shared this bottle with me and I was blown away. I'm not a wine expert, but I've been around 81 Lafitte's and early Margeaux, which are incredible. The Aliminy red brought back memories of what an epic wine tastes like. Velvety smooth, rich berries and fruit flavor. This is my new favorite wine, hands down.

Plum, cassis and mocha! Wow! The front and mid palates are wonderful. We opened this wine up midweek while still celebrating the new year and what a pleasant surprise. I had to come the website to learn more. I love the evolution of the name and it definitely is a beautifully crafted cuvée.
